Happy Merchant Navy Day shipmates! The 3rd of September every year. A day where our red ensign, as always, is hoisted and flying proud! This day marks respect for those that served in our Merchant Navy in the past, especially those serving in battle and in the convoys. We shall remember them and continue to respect those Merchant Seamen. Also it is a day to respect those seafarers working in the present Merchant Navy ashore or at sea helping to keep our world trade moving. Just like in previous historic conflicts, the modern day fight against piracy or armed robbery, the Merchant Navy seafarers regardless of rank will always ensure that cargo is safely transported to its destination. From ship to shore, from past to present, let us seafarers enjoy our Merchant Navy Day. The Merchant Navy Association.
