Over 3,000 WWII Northern Convoy veterans from UK receive Russian Ushakov medals:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree presenting more than 3,000 World War II Northern Convoy veterans from the United Kingdom with Ushakov medals.
Between 1941 and 1945, the Arctic, or Northern, convoys transported more than four million tonnes of supplies to the Soviet Union. There were 77 such convoys over this period.
