Pics of Cutty Sark day attached:Pictures show: Merchant Navy War Veterans from the Atlantic Convoys - no Arctic Veterans present. Oldest Veteran was 98 ..... Donald Staddon from the Athelsultan: He was rescued as a 17 year old apprentice in September 1942. One of 10 survivors from a crew of 60. The Master was James Donovan (my Uncle Jim). He too was rescued and was awarded the Lloyds medal for Bravery at Sea. I had a very happy chat with Donald so for that reason I was glad that I went. The 4 Merchant Navy stamps from the War show 3 ROYAL Navy Vessels. Don’t know why the RN signaller is showing ‘Cancel’ Brenda Shackleton by e.mail.Attachments:
