USHAKOV MEDAL:
Two sources mentioned today:
“Looks like we have had a break through! My Grandad received a letter Friday confirming they will receive the medal! Fantastic news! All the petitions and support was worth it?”
“My father received an application form last week from the Russian Embassy, via the MOD, as he was already in receipt of the Arctic Star. It will not be issued posthumously”.
Will advice further if and when
K.

LATEST NEWS:
9/9/2013 – We understand that veterans have begun to receive letters and application forms. Unfortunately, we understand that it is standard practice for these medals not to be awarded posthumously, which I am sure is very disappointing for the family of those concerned and only goes to reiterate the importance of swift decision making on such issues.
