Royal Mail Merchant Navy research:
We are working with the Royal Mail on a project in advance of the launch of their commemorative stamps on 19th September. We have had a brilliant response to the campaign so far but we are still trying to find people who are connected in any way with the following ships:
· The Lord Hinton ship, which sailed in the 1980s
· The Queen Elizabeth, which sailed in the 1940s
· The Clan Matheson, which sailed in 1919
Do any of your members have Merchant Navy relatives who sailed on:
· The Cutty Sark
· The Brittania (1840, a Royal Mail ship)
· East Indiaman Atlas 1813
We would love to hear their stories and speak to them. Any Battle of the Atlantic stories would be wonderful to hear too. If they could get in contact with me either by email or telephone that would be wonderful.
My number is 07787 446 155 and email harriet@goldengoosepr.com
Best regards,
Harriet
