Commemorated in perpetuity by the Commonwealth Grave Commission

Empire Crossbill:
British steam merchant
Empire Crossbill was a 5,463 GRT Design 1013 cargo ship that was built in 1919 by Los Angeles Shipbuilding & Drydock Corporation, San Pedro, California, United States for the United States Shipping Board.
She was a 5,462 grt steam cargo ship that was sunk on 11 September 1941 by a torpedo fired by German submarine U-82 at position 63° 14’ N 37° 12’ W.
There were no survivors

I am very grateful for your contact and myself and my family would be most grateful for any information or possibly photos involving my late great grandfather James Lewis Bolton.
He was from Hartlepool Cleveland he was only 28 when he died. If there is any more info you require I would be happy to oblige and will look forward to anything you discover or have discovered its all very exiting. Warm regards. Kaylee.
