A number of more up-to-date items are nowhere to be found, the plaque of the town’s adoption of HMS Vanessa given to the town by the destroyer in recognition of the funds raised by Barry’s townspeople during the war for "Barry Warship Week", which was to be permanently displayed in the town hall.
